The Depot Outlet helps in many ways through not only the funding requests that they award every month to non-profit organizations, but also with other community outreach projects. One of the many projects that are funded by the Depot Outlet is a program started in 2008 called the DOLR (Depot Outlet Low Rate) program. This program helps those individuals with disabilities by providing a $1.00 discount on their taxi fare with Hometown Taxi to any location in Winneshiek County.
Another program that is help funded by the Depot Outlet is BINGO in our local nursing homes. The Depot Outlet recognizes the importance of keeping our elderly active and social and encourages that by funding the BINGO games when member churches go to the local nursing homes and host. Each year almost $5,000 is reimbursed to the member churches.
The Depot Outlet knows the importance of our youth as well. Every year the Depot helps sponsor the Post Prom activities at all three of the county High Schools. And for the first time in the 2020-2021 school year, the area 5th-8th grade students will receive funding toward field trips in the amount of $50.00 per student.
